Allen & Robin Cockerline have been farming for 30 years, the majority of that time as dairy farmers. In the last 7 years they have been building a small grass fed beef business, as well as creating a maze each year. "As a dairy farmer I enjoyed planting and harvesting on a large scale, usually 150 acres of corn as well as several hundred acres of hay each year," says farmer Allen Cockerline. "Now I've been able to take my 30 years of experience with light, color, voids and masses that are a part of every cornfield and combine them for my own enjoyment as well as others.

The maze is based on the use of the geometric patterns that are always present in any corn field and adding some of the elements that growers usually try to avoid. Circles, triangles, wavy lines are eccentricities we can't afford in production farming. Add to that 5 other crops, sunflowers, sorghum, alfalfa and soy beans. The object is to lose yourself in the process of discovery."
